Lukas Notten
TSU 2nd VP
Vote
Lukas Notten (he/him) is running for the position of TSU Second Vice President. He is a math and science teacher at Monsignor Percy Johnson (MPJ) with over 13 years of teaching experience. He is a passionate advocate for teachers and students in his school and across the board.
Lukas is running because he wants to help build capacity among members to create a TSU that respects and elevates the voices of all. He brings significant leadership experience, serving as current TSU 3rd Vice President, MPJ Math Department Head, MPJ Equity Champion, MPJ LSSAC member, and former MPJ TSU rep.
Lukas is deeply concerned about the issues of increasing violence in schools, the lack of support for the mental health of students and teachers, and the implications of the rising use of AI in education. He believes a united and empowered TSU/OECTA membership has the ability to build on the historic gains of the labour movement to improve working conditions for teachers, and learning environments for students.
