Phil is seeking election to the TSU Executive for the position of Councillor. He has served as an Association Representative at Mary Ward for the past three years and is currently in his 15th year of teaching. Over that time, Phil has worked closely alongside colleagues in the classroom, experiencing firsthand the significant shifts in working conditions for educators. While he may be newer to formal union leadership, he has found his voice as an advocate, and is motivated to use it to support others.

With the increased scrutiny of educators, Phil believes this is a critical moment for strong collaboration and collective action. He sees a need for educators to come together, to support one another, and to build a more engaged and unified membership.

Outside of school, Phil is a proud girl-dad who can often be found cheering on his daughters at dance competitions or supporting their activities with the Girl Guides of Canada. He enjoys travelling, hockey, and cycling, and is currently training for a half marathon this October.

Phil brings a grounded, classroom-informed perspective and is ready to listen, to learn, and to stand with his colleagues in strengthening our collective voice.
